Signature Loans for Less Stress

July 15, 2010

A signature loan is one that’s activated upon only your signature rather than having to put up your property as collateral.

These are becoming more and more popular because of that simple fact. No more will you need to worry about losing your home if you happen to miss a payment on the loan. You’ll worry, instead, about missing the payment and having more fees tacked onto the next double payment you’ll need to make.

With signature loans, you don’t need a co-signer. These are also known as “character loans,” which means that you’re being granted a loan based on your word that you’ll pay it back. Even people with bad credit can get one of these loans, although they can expect the same interest rate hikes that other lending institutions assign to people with bad credit.

As your credit is a huge deciding factor in whether or not you’re going to be granted any type of loan, you should find out what sort of shape your credit score is in. Even if your credit is bad, you can still qualify for a signature loan, but it will depend on how low your credit score is as to whether or not you’ll be granted the loan. Your credit rating really does follow you for the rest of your life.

Signature loans granted to those with bad credit can be used for any reason. Some of these things include college loans, remodeling your home, debt consolidation and a dream vacation. The most money you can usually get on a signature loan is 10,000 pounds.

However, if you meet the requirements, you may be able to get up to 15,000 pounds. The amount you can get typically depends on your ability to repay it. Most signature loans carry a 60 month repayment time frame.

Signature loans have become more widespread over the years because they have the ability to take away some financial burdens without the worry of putting up collateral. Just don’t let the fact that you can get your hands on some money make you irresponsible in spending it. Also, never lose sight of the fact that it IS a DEBT and must be repaid according to the agreed upon terms.
